- 1 kg of octopus
- Vinegar
- 2 bay leaves
- 5-6 pepper seeds
- 1 garlic clove
- Olive oil
- ½ kg of split peas
- 1 onion
- Salt
INSTRUCTIONS
For the octopus
Put the octopus in vinegar and we cover it with a plastic membrane. Let it rest for an hour.
Strain it and dispose of the vinegar.
Place the octopus in a pan and add pepper, garlic, oregano and olive oil. Cover the pan with baking paper and aluminum foil.
Bake at 200 C at a preheated oven for 45 minutes. After twenty minutes uncover the pan, flip the octopus, cover the pot again and continue baking.
For the split peas
Soak the split peas in water for 30 minutes and then strain them.
Add the split peas in a pot with water. When they start boiling, stir, lower the heat and add the whole onion. Boil in low heat for 30-45 minutes.
Turn off the heat and with a wooden spoon keep stirring until creamy.
Blend in a blender and add salt and olive oil.
Serve with the octopus, some capers and onion.
